Welcome to Nature's Edge Wood Design
Reclaimed Wood Furniture & Wood Bowls
Slab Benches - Reclaimed Wood Tables - Driftwood Stools
Wooden Bowls - Wood Serving Trays - Wooden Platters
We are located on the north central east coast of Vancouver Island, off the wild west coast of British Columbia Canada and we are surrounded by nature. The Pacific Ocean is on one side, the Vancouver Island Mountain range and Strathcona Provincial Park on the other. Everything is green and lush and the Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, Maple and Alder grow in abundance and reach mammoth size in this fertile rain forest climate.
"Keep it Simple" That's our philosophy at Nature's Edge Wood Design.
The majority of the wood we work with at Nature's Edge Wood Design is found washed up on the beaches of Discovery Passage from Campbell River to Saratoga Beach.
The driftwood slab tables are made from wood found and milled with a chainsaw right on the beach and occasionally from wood pulled from a burn pile at a logging site. This wood ranges from old growth Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar and Yellow Cedar to Maple and other native woods.
We also produce single slab wood benches and "stump stools", quirky, attractive stools or end tables made from the stumps of driftwood and reclaimed wood.

Alder, Arbutus, Maple Wood Platters & Bowls |
The wood bowls, wood platters and wood serving trays are usually made from Maple and Alder but we also use Poplar, Arbutus and several species of hard wood we have not yet identified. Each one is unique in grain and details but the overall design is very versatile and they can be used for serving platters, table centerpieces or Medieval style trenchers or bowls.
Bowls and serving trays have been treated with food safe mineral oil for a finish and are fully functional in the kitchen and dining room.
